Watch the blade. Keep the blade to the waste side of your layout lines, and sight along its length to keep your cuts accurate.
Corner cut. Use a narrow blade for curved cuts. Holding the blade slightly off vertical, saw partway along the curve. Reposition the workpiece to continue the cut.
Crosscut the shoulder. Hold the blade perpendicular to the stock, and saw to the depth of the shoulders.
Then level the blade. With the blade held horizontally, saw straight across to the bottom of each cheek.
