Homemade Biscuits l needed 50 biscuits to build my bookcase and wouldn't you know it, 1 came up a few biscuits short! It was Saturday night and all the stores were closed, so I decided to improvise. 1 traced a few biscuits on a piece of wood planed to about 3/16-in, thick and cut them out on the bandsaw. They were a little thick, so 1 compressed them in the jaws of a machinist's vise until they fit snugly. During glue up, the water in the glue slowly swelled the new biscuits and locked them tight.
