The Spice Drawer on page 26 doesn t require any specialhard-
ing the Bench. This is different thanjust a water repellent, such as Thompson's Water Seal. A simple repellent doesn't have any fungicide to fight mildew.
For the Garden Bench, I used General Finishes' Outdoor Oil, see sources below. But water repellent/preservatives, such as DAP's Woodlife, are available at ware. But it should be finished local hardware or paint stores. to match the cabinets in your Before buying a repellent/pre- kitchen. (I stained my Drawer servative, just make sure it can with Minwax's Golden Oak. be painted when dry. Then I wiped on two coats of kilz KNOT SEALER. When tMinwax's Antique Oil Finish.)
pigmented Kilz sealer, see page On page 25, we show how to 19. Though it's available as a touch up router bits with dia-water-base (KilzII), I used the mond honing files. Diamond original oil-base. (An oil-based files work on both carbide and paint primer won't adhere to the water-based Kilz, and the oil-base also dries quicker.) Kilz knot sealer can be found at local paint and hardware stores.
