Also, you can remove the standard, soft rubber pads that come with the Irwin Quick-Grip clamp and replace them with deep reaching pads, as shown in the photo at right. These pads can apply pressure from the tip of the jaw all the way down to the bar.

MITER CLAMPING. Another accessory is a miter clamping set. A large, V-shaped face attaches to the fixed jaw to hold the outside of a miter joint. A matching rubber block fits over the sliding jaw. As the clamp is brought together, it forces the joint together. A relief in the V-face protects the corner and allows for glue squeeze-out.
