Crosscut Trivets

While it may look like 14 separate sticks have been glued together in a grid pattern to form these trivets, the truth is you can cut the whole trivet in one part from a single piece of wood. There's no gluing or assembly involved—just a little milling on the router tabic. Thanks to the 'woven' design, these trivets effectively disperse heat to protect tables and countertops from hot dishes. They make unique gifts, and you can build them in a snap from any hardwood species you like.
