the assembled frame, cut it out and took it as a template to the glass shop where I had the mirror cut. Then I bandsawed the outer curve on the top rail and outer stiles, taking care not to cut into the mortises.

As I did with the other picccs in this suite, 1 used an oil finish on the mirror frame. I applied several coats sparingly, to keep cxccss from soaking into the panel grooves and inner stile mortises, from which it would have oozed later on. Also, note that you need to finish the inner face of the rabbet as well, since it will be reflected in the mirror.

To finish assembly, I predrilled the cleats that hold the mirror and backboard in place and fastened them with mirror frame, and once the glue had dried, I laid the frame face up on the router table and routed a Vin.-deep rabbet to acccpt the Ifc-in.-thick mirror glass, the plywood backboard and the small cleats that hold the mirror and back in place.
