If you're like a lot of people, you have an uncanny tendency to accumulate things. Some are priceless, others merely memorabilia from times and places past. Sadly, these precious objects are often doomed to oblivion—hidden away in drawers and boxes— unless you have a decent place to show them off. I built this display cabinet as a solution.

For better or worse, most of the things 1 design for myself are intentionally simple, consuming vast amounts of neither time nor materials. 'Hie trick is to make them attractive and functional. In this case, my aim was to let the knickknacks speak for themselves without much intrusion from the cabinet. My choice was plenty of glass and just enough wood to hold everything together.

One aspect of designing with glass is that you have to allow for the possibility of breakage: How will you replace broken panes? It would have been much too complicated to
