Texas-Sized Hideaway

"I'm a dust and neatness freak," admits Bob Stuckey of Anderson, Texas. "When I built my dream shop five years ago, I installed a 5-in. PVC dust-collection system under the slab floor and hooked it up to an Oneida cyclone dust collector in a back corner." Bob's an avid woodworker, but he likes a neat and tidy shop. To organize his tools, Bob covered every wall with perfboard and says, "I put up each tool when I finish using it."

Bob's got plenty of room. His shop is 28 ft. wide by 40 ft. deep with 10-ft. ceilings. UI planned it all around my Delta Unisaw," he says. And what's behind the big double doors? "That's my office and assembly room. It's full of memorabilia from my 35-year career at NASA," Bob explains. "Sometimes I just sit in there and reminisce. After all, my shop is really my home away from home."
