Approaching the lathe

There was a time when 'one size fits all' socks filled the shelves, which was fine for those people in the middle of the size range, but for people like me. shoe size 12, it was always a struggle pulling them on as my feet were often beyond the stretch limit of the socks. And what about the guy at the other end of the range, walking around with the heels halfway up his leg? But things are much better now - there are socks available in my size, which is very nice.
